                              Doris
Doris has been a member of the Gieblinge book club for many years already. Enthusiastic book fanatic men and women have been meeting once a month since they first started the club. They talk about the books they're reading, exchange tips and read their own stories to the other members.
Doris loves short stories about life and nature and has in her collection countless books , many of which she wrote herself in her beautiful handwriting. Doris is especially delighted when she gets to read her short stories to the others once a month and looks forward to it days before that special evening.

                          Metha
With horror Metha noticed that some insects were coming out of their winter quarters a few days ago. The warm daytime temperatures fooled them into coming out, but as soon as the sun went down in the evenings, the bitter cold returned, much to their demise.
After all, it is still winter, Metha thought and went to discuss a solution for the poor insects with her girlfriends.
So by now, the rescue operation is in full swing and most of the Gieblinge women get underway as soon as the sun goes down to collect the insects which did not make a safe return to their winter quarters.
Relieved, Metha makes her way home carrying her last rescue fly of the day. For tomorrow, cooler temperatures are expected which will hopefully keep the insects from being lured from their safe places.

                                          Gerburg

"So", thinks Gerburg as she fastens the wooden necklace around her neck, roughens up her wig and blackens her eyes with charcoal, " If this doesn't do it then I don't know what will and I may need to find a new place for my strawberries!"

Over the last few years, Gerburg has been having troubles with her strawberry fields, humans trample them flat, pull the plants out of the soil and leave garbage strewn all over the place.

Apparently, humans don't value strawberries the way Gerburg does and she had it with that nonsense! It wouldn't bother her at all if the humans only ate a few berries here or there, even the forest animals do that, but to needlessly destroy her beloved strawberry fields is beyond her comprehension.

That's why she has been working on this costume all winter long, putting a lot of thought into what would scare the humans enough to leave the fields alone once and for all.

This afternoon, Gerburg will lay in hiding nearby and jump out at anybody that vandalizes her fields to scare the living daylights out of them, in hopes they will never return.

Gerburg feels bad to resort to such measures with the humans, but she would feel even worse to see the disappointment on the children's faces when they're asking for dried strawberries this winter and there were none.

Edna

There is much excitement the last few days, cleaning and straightening out the Gieblinge forest. Edna already observed mice, cloths in hand, wiping down leaves and bushes, colonies of beetles clearing debris from trails and paths, and there is happy anticipation in the air while waiting for the newcomers. Edna has high hopes that after the recent traumatic events , they will find a good life here with the Gieblinge. They surely are welcome, Edna smiles as she watches the busy doings around her..

A few days ago, horrific news reached the Gieblinge, a couple of miles away deforestation had begun, in a flurry of excitement the Gieblinge immediately dispatched a rescue troop to come to the aid of the displaced forest animals and bring them to their new home.

They should be here any moment now, thinks Edna as she removes some branches from the path.

   Elli and Joachim

Oh look at that, Elli calls out with a smile on her

face, as she observes a group of people in a distance, waiving enthusiastically.

Elli and Joachim have been traveling for several

month, visiting friends in far away places. They had a wonderful time with much laughter and many celebrations. Old friendships got renewed and new friends were made along the way. But now Elli and Joachim are glad to arrive at home.

There is no place like home and nothing better than sleeping in my own bed, Joachim laughs and steps up his pace while waving back at his waiting family.

Oh dear! I'm so looking forward to my performance, Klarinda thinks while she steps behind the stage filled with excitement. Before she walks to the other members of her theater group, Klarinda tries to take a look through the curtain of the stage. Her granddaughter is sitting in the audience and Klarinda knows that her granddaughter is very proud of her grandma. I won't disappoint you, she thinks, while her gaze wanders through the audience

Luischen
I'm playing the evil fairy, I'm playing the evil fairy , Luischen mumbles to herself as she tries her best to stop smiling. While she is walking towards the direction of the laughter she wonders if maybe she is giving herself too much credit, maybe I can't look grumpy enough, she thinks and ruffles her hair one last time. When she hears her friend Viola call her name from afar, all the fear Luischen had is forgotten and she starts looking forward to the play. We can do it together, she thinks before Viola hugs her.

Viola
I'm so excited and it's going to be a wonderful evening, Viola whispers softly to herself. Hopefully the others will come, she thinks as she hurries toward the clearing. Now she can already see all the other Gieblinge and forest dwellers who look forward to the spectacle Viola and her friends have planned. Viola's small theater group will perform the fairy tale of the Fairy Huberta this evening, who is said to have lived in the Gieblinge forest many years ago. Viola loved this fairy tale even as a little girl and is now particularly honored to be allowed to play this exact role of fairy in the play.

   Hänschen

Now that there are so many more occupants in the Gieblinge forest, more provisions are also need to be stored for the long winter, thinks Hänschen. Every forest dweller helps as much as possible to gather enough supplies, but because of the newcomers much more is needed. And so, now goes Hänschen, who is the supply foreman, from nest to nest and den to den, to offer assistance to the inhabitants.
So far, Hänschen certainly didn't have to beg them to accept his help. Word that he was on his way has traveled ahead of him quickly and everybody is awaiting his arrival with well thought out lists to fulfill.
The newcomers, overjoyed to have found new homes and a welcoming community in this lovely forest, all are eager to participate and help to ensure it stays a peaceful place.
Simply marvelous, laughs Hänschen as he watches some newcomers hopping toward him through the lush, tall grass, calling out their suggestions to him.

                             Waldemar

Every few weeks or so, Waldemar gives his daughter and son-in-law a chance for a quiet date night by watching the grandkids. Waldemar spends a lot of time planning and preparing fun filled activities for the little ones. One evening, he invited some mice over and everybody spent the entire night dancing. Another time, Waldemar dressed up as a clown and played a clumsy, unlucky fellow for them to make them laugh.

But today is especially exciting for Waldemar because he is planning on reading a book to his grandchildren, a very special book called "Tatatuck's Travels to the Crystal Mountain". When Waldemar was just a little tyke, his older siblings gifted this book to him and he still treasures it as his prize possession.

"My children loved it" thinks Waldemar and a soft smile comes over his face as he recalls the excitement in the glossy eyes of his children as they listened to Tatatuck's story.

Beate
Satisfied with her handy work, Beate gets underway to see St. Nick. For the most part of the year Beate spends her time in her tiny chamber, working on old and new Teddy bears. She mends ripped seams, applies patches, embroiders new noses and paws and then returns them to their grateful owners.
But shortly before Christmas Beate becomes very busy filling St. Nick's orders for new Teddies.
Today, she finished the last Teddy for the season and personally delivers him to St. Nick.
Oh, those children's eyes will sparkle with delight, thinks Beate with joy in her heart, while stomping through the snow.

                           Eckard
The children will be so surprised to see me like this, thinks Eckhard as he puts his hat on his clean shaven, white painted head.
There will be a great big Christmas party for the Gieblinge and the little animals in the forest tomorrow.
Eckhard got the idea to dress up as a snowman and surprise the little ones at the entrance to the festival grounds.
Young Gieblinge love to build snowmen in the winter, so Eckhard thinks they will like his idea and has high hopes to build the first snowman of the season with the little ones.

Kunibert
Wonderful, just wonderful, Kunibert grins when he thinks about tonight. A few months ago many animals fled to them from a distant forest and that's when Kunibert saw his friend Lorenz fall in love with a beautiful female blackbird. Lorenz jumped restlessly back and forth on his branch and chirped without ceasing when he saw her for the first time. The young blackbird girl, however, was not receptive towards Lorenz. Leaving her home and the stress that came with it bothered her too much. But the greeting of the newcomers was warm, and after everyone had settled in and most the stress was released, the blackbird lady showed interest towards Lorenz. And as it often goes in life there will be a bird wedding today and Kunibert will be the best man. He laughs out loud thinking back, and he can't wait for it to be evening.

  Online class with

  Fairyfelt by SiSo

During the class you will learn the basic techniques needed for the construction of a doll. Through the application of many layers of wool using a fine felting needle, a face will emerge and with much loving attention to detail it will come alive right in front of your eyes.

Wire within the fingers, arms and legs will give the body the ability to be positioned, and to ensure that the doll can stand on it's own, we will construct simple shoes using polymer clay. The individual clothing will be wet felted with natural colored merino wool, which then is going to be hand dyed in the colors of your own choosing. To finish, the doll will be dressed and the hair will be attached with a felting needle and styled.

Materials are included in the cost of the course. All materials will be mailed to you upon registration.
